The panel will address motions for sanctions, motions to bar, contempt, discovery disputes, spoliation, malicious prosecution, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure 11 and 37, 28 U.S.C. § 1927, and Illinois Supreme Court Rules 137 and 219. Synergy Law Group's Joseph Kish Named 2013 Illinois Super Lawyer
Joseph L. Kish, a Partner at Synergy Law Group, was named to the Illinois Super Lawyers list as a top attorney in Illinois for 2013.
Fewer than five percent of the state's attorneys earn a Super Lawyer designation, which is based on peer recognition and professional achievement. Attorneys are chosen annually after a rigorous multi-phased selection process that includes statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area.
Kish has extensive trial and appellate experience in federal and state courts, as well as alternative dispute resolution experience involving mediation and arbitration. His areas of expertise include complex commercial and financial litigation, class actions, intellectual property litigation, including trademark, copyright, and trade secrets, restrictive covenant litigation, and employment litigation.
Licensed in the state and federal trial and appellate courts in Illinois and California, and the District of Colorado, Kish is faculty for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, editor and author of the Experts chapter for Business and Commercial Litigation 2012 (IICLE). He earned his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
Kish has been listed under the Business Litigation practice area in the upcoming Illinois Super Lawyers magazine as well as on the Super Lawyers website.

Arthur Mertes Leads MBBI M&A Panel
On the 31st, Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries (MBBI) held the 'May 2012 Conference' at the Fountain Blue Banquet and Conference Center in Des Plaines, IL. The conference was designed for professionals serving the Merger and Acquisition advisory market and investors interested in buying small and middle market companies. Panel discussions included such topics as Venture Capital and Angel Investing, Deal Structure Benchmarks, and The Economy's Impact on Middle Market M&A.
